2,007,000That’s the number of Zoomers who worked out at a fitness club 10 times or more over the past 12 months. That’s more than any other age group.(Source: Vividata Winter 2019)
Canada’s Zoomer (45-plus) population is breaking all the rules about what is supposed to happen when you get “older.”
They’re totally redefining the entire meaning of “aging.” They’re not automatically retiring “on schedule” at age 65. They’re pioneering new forms of travel, of education, of social activity. They’re taking charge of their own health care, staying active (and healthier) longer. All the past benchmarks, the expected behaviours, are being swept away.
Forget about “retirement.” Today, the word is “engagement.”
